Wild Mountain Mommies wet/dry medium bags review

I just love my new medium wet bags. They were handmade by Cristina, the WAHM behind Wild Mountain Mommies. I ordered these since I needed two bags for when school starts in the fall so I could send a change of clothes and extra trainers to school with my 3 year old.The prints are so cute, my toddler loves both the robots and the dinos.

The bag with robot print is a Wet/Dry bag and measures 13 1/2 X 13 1/2in. It has a super deep outer pocket to store the dry change of clothes. I like that the pocket goes up to almost the same size of the bag because this all the clothes stay in the bag and are less likely to fall out.


The bag with the dinos print is a Wet bag and measures 13 X 15in. It is 1 1/2 inches taller than the robot bag and does not have an outer pocket.I have been using this one for trips to the store and errands since it easily
fits 2 double stuffed diapers and a pack of wipes.

These bags both have inner PUL lining and outer cotton print. The outer pocket on the Wet/Dry bag is Cotton.The handle on both have snaps that are color matched to the print. The snaps on the handle are a great feature since you can hang it anywhere; on the stroller, shopping cart, etc.

On a recent trip to the pool I used both bags and snapped the handles of both around eachother, making it easier to carry them this way. I used the robot print for the dry clothes and diapers and took the dino print along to put the wet bathing suits when done.

Bag all zipped up and ready to go.I still had space on the front pocket to put in my wallet, cellphone and car keys.

I like their functionality and cuteness :-)

Potty training with WunderUnders

WunderUnders are custom made trainers with your child's specific measurements and are completely customizable to your needs.
I decided to get both the Pocket and the Hybrid trainers with snaps to see which one would work best for my toddler.  He has a weak grasp and has trouble pulling his pants up and down so I needed something stretchy.
For the Hybrid trainer I chose the Robot print for the main body with spice orange for the side panels.
The Pocket got the Blue Dragon print for the main body with Marigold for the side panels and a stay dry layer.
I opted to have the elastic completely encased  so that the elastic doesn't irritate the skin, and side snaps to make messy changes a breeze :-)
Now for the inserts I chose a 6 ply Bamboo insert for the pocket diaper, and a 4 layer one for the hybrid.
I chose these heavy duty inserts because at this point in time my toddler is completely "going" in his diaper/trainer and I needed as much absorbency as I could get.

These trainers were made with my toddler's measurements in mind.  He weighs in at 31.7 lbs at the moment and has a 14 1/2in rise, 13in thigh and 19in waist.  The trainers came beautifully packed along with washing instructions. You can either unsnap sides or turn inside out to wash.

 On the right its the Hybrid with adorable Robot print, on the left it's the Blue Dragon print which I LOVE. These prints are absolutely stunning in person, I love the bright colors.

 Here is my boy in the pocket trainer. He had no problem pulling it on, the side elastic is very soft and stretchy making it easy for him to grasp it.

He has room to grown into, it will fit him for quite a while.

 Take a look at the insert. It has two snaps at one end to keep it all together. Unsnap before line drying to speed up the drying time since there are 6 layers of absorbancy in there!

 I like that it has two seams where the fold lines are which makes it easier to fold up. 

This is the Hybrid with the Snap in insert.

 The snap in insert has 5 snaps, two in the back, one in the middle and two in the front. This makes sure the insert stays in place as your toddler pulls the trainer up and down.

 Hugs the thighs perfectly still allowing for a full range of movement.

 This one is a bit more trimmer looking in the bum area because the insert is 4 layers vs the 6 layers in the Pocket trainer.

 He had no problem grasping the side panels to pull them up and down.

Ready to potty train with Grovia

Ready to potty train with the Grovia trainer.  I purchased the Grovia trainer in the Cloud color which comes with cloud color side panels. Side panels in other colors and larger size are sold separately.  This trainer has a pocket but does not come with inserts, it does however have a sown in hidden layer of hemp/cotton terry blend inside the pocket.   Per the packaging this shell is a One Size and will fit from 30  to over 33 lbs. Since my toddler is just over 31 lbs and 2T I decided to also get the 3T-5T Plus size side Flex panels in Kiwi color.
The outer shell is TPU, absorbent layer is Hemp/Cotton Terry, Inner layer is a GroCool layer that lets the child feel the wetness 100% Polyester.
The side panels have one row of snaps, if you have two children in different sizes like me then just switch between the two sets of sides in the two different sizes. The shell also has a row of snaps to adjust the rise.
According to washing instructions on packaging you cannot use bleach. It is recommended that you wash on warm and tumble dry.  Before first use wash/dry 2-3 times.

 The regular panels give my toddler a nice snug fit.

 There is a row of snaps to adjust the rise, here is the trainer with the row snapped.

 There is plenty of room to grow in the bum area.

You can see the difference in size between the regular side panels (cloud) and the plus size panels (kiwi)

 I switched to the plus size sides to make it easier for him to pull the trainer up and down.

 The trainer has a pocket but comes with no insert. I stuffed it with a Thirsties Doubler (pink) that I had to show how it would look. It fits it pretty good.

 The width of the doubler I have (pink thirsties doubler) fits it pretty good, but one of my regular soaker pads (white underneath the pink soaker) its too wide for the pocket opening.

Potty training- The Potty

My almost 3 year old is not keen on the idea of using the potty.  We have a Fisher Price Precious Planet Froggy Friend Potty, a Thomas the train Soft potty seat by Ginsey, and BabyBJorn toilet trainer.
My strategy so far is placing the frog potty in the living room during the day so that is readily available. It is easy to carry and empty.  My 1 year old likes to seat on it and hangs on to the handles.  My toddler on the other hand has a slight preference for the Thomas the train soft potty the times he seats on the big potty, I think it is because it is a soft seat and the handles make him feel more secure. I like that it has that front "shield" which is a must for little boys :-)   Our adventures in potty training continue, It's going to be a while before the toddler masters it but its a start.

Ready to potty train with Flip

Ready to potty train with the Flip trainer. I purchased the Flip trainer in the Albert print with white side panels. Side panels in other colors are sold separately. I love that it came packed with 3 organic cotton pads.   Per the packaging this shell is a One Size and will fit from 20 to 50 lb and 18mo to 4T size. My toddler is just over 31 lbs and 2T so this size should fit him for quite a while.
The outer shell is 100% Laminated Polyester, Side Panels are 95% Polyester and 5% Spandex, Pads are 100% Organic Cotton.
Side panels have two rows of snaps to customize the fit around hips/waist.  The shell itself has 3 rows of snaps to adjust the rise. Snap down to fit from 20-29 lbs, snap to second row to fit 30-39 lbs and third row for 40-50 lbs, or leave completely unsnapped to fit up to 4T.
According to the washing instructions on packaging you can use 1/4 cup of bleach in the hot wash once a month. It is recommended that you line dry the cover and tumble dry the insert.

The flip trainer and 3 pads come packaged in a fully recyclable packaging. I LOVE the Albert Print!

The 3 organic cotton pads are generous in size and have hoop and loop strips on the top and bottom, you can fold them down to size.  The shell has hidden hook and loop underneath the pocket on the front and back so you can attach the pads.

There is plenty of room to grow in the bum area.

 Out of the 3 rows of snaps for the rise I have it set to the lowest possible setting.

 Notice there are two rows of snaps on the stretchy sides. It would fit him better/snug if i were to snap it on the first row, but by doing so he has trouble grabbing the fabric to pull down, so I set it to the second row so that it is looser around his hips making it easier for him to get a grasp of the fabric.

Potty training- The beginning of training pants

My toddler is nearing his 3rd birthday and starting pre-school this summer, so I have been searching for potty training pants that will work for him. Since he has trouble pulling his pants on/off I need something stretchy and easy to pull on and off. Also took into consideration that at this point in time he will fully "GO" in his diaper without telling me, so a trainer must have snaps to avoid having to pull it down and make a bigger mess, It also has to be able to hold a pull pee.
I decided to try two trainers (one pocket and one hybrid) custom made by  Wunderunders, and also a Flip trainer, and a Grovia trainer .

I'll write up the results of each once he starts wearing them.
