Freecycle

I've been a member of the local freecycle group since 2009. It's all about keeping stuff out of landfills by giving it to other's who might need it. Check out Freecycle.org ! Find the group nearest you in their search box. There's a group in almost every city/town/county. From their welcome page: "The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 5,069 groups with 9,152,735 members around the world. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers (them's good people). Membership is free." Have a happy healthy day!

Fitted diaper test - Chasing Nature Designs

Image
Today I want to talk about a fitted diaper made by ChasingNature Designs .  This one in particular is a tester made out of organic cotton and bamboo. Here is its composition: The insert has 4 layers of absorbency- 2 bamboo fleece layers 1 heavy organic bamboo fleece layer 1 organic cotton velour layer (very soft fussy feeling) The shell is composed of 3 layers - 1 Organic cotton velour interior 1 Bamboo layer 1 Flannel exterior Total of 7 layers. Diaper weight when dry: 4.6 oz I only have another type of fitted diaper to compare it to, and that is a Thirsties fitted in size large.   It is one of my overnight solutions.    The Nature Designs diaper is close in weigh but trimmer around the thighs than the Thirsties.   For nighttime use I outfit the Thristies with an Ikea burp cloth pad folded.   This brings its weight up from 4.1 oz to 7.2 oz VS the 4.6 of the cotton/bamboo diaper. ...

Today I want to show you big boy undies and t-shirts made by Sonya over at Sublime Threads .      My toddler boy is now wearing his trainers only at nighttime and nap time, so I needed to get him some boxer briefs for school and daytime. I did a little search on Etsy and found Sublime Threads shop , I decided to give it a try.      Let me tell you I'm definitely impressed. Turn around time was really fast, it only took 5 days counting the day I placed the order to the day I received the items. The seams are serged and she also topstiches where needed.  Both the shirts and boxers are true to size and she has really cute prints on hand.       I ordered 2 short sleeve raglan shirts in size 4T  and 4 boxer briefs in size 2/3T. Lets take a look at the shirts first. This is a size 4T short sleeve raglan shirt. I love this Groovy Peace Love fabric with coordinating color sleeves. This is a size 4T Oshkosh B...
